Participatory budget 2022
Decidamos nuestras prioridades juntos
A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.
Los presupuestos participativos son un instrumento democrático en el que la ciudadanía decide de manera directa a qué se destina una parte del presupuesto municipal destinado a realizar inversiones.
Through this process, all neighbours of Murcia Municipality are able to make their proposals and express their opinions concerning a part of municipal investment budget.
This citizen participation tool, allows citizens to participate by making investment proposals and by voting for viable proposals they prefer, until the allocated budget for each area, or for the municipality in general, is allocated.
In the participatory budget we decide which projects we want for Murcia. And the Municipality will set aside 5.300.000€ and let citizens decide how to invest them.
4.000.000€ are equally divided between the 8 districts of the city
1.300.000 € will be directed to general investment in the municipality as a whole
